Cowgirl Lemonade began as an idea, conceived in Vermont, and inspired by a traditional maple lemonade recipe. Drawing from our culinary and nutrition experience and interest we have transformed this classic recipe into our own unique craft beverages.
With east coast country roots the gals grew up riding horses and wearing dusty cowgirl boots. Business was scarce on the dirt roads of rural Pennsylvania but the girls enjoyed the process of entrepreneurship, running a lemonade stand at a young age. As adults having relocated to Colorado’s wild west and keeping a playful spin on elevated childhood dreams, the spirited title of Cowgirl Lemonade was created.
The company was founded by Maxwell Hawk and Corina Remer in 2014 and came to fruition in 2015 with the addition of partner Shona Paterson. May of 2015 marked the first season for the business, attending weekly farmers markets with the Colorado Fresh Market group at Cherry Creek, City Park, and Stapleton, and pop up events and festivals with the Firefly Handmade and Horseshoe Markets.
Our mission is to subtly steer the world towards a healthier lifestyle that balances nutrition and awareness with recreation and treats! We want to make good decisions for our bodies, our well being, and our environment while also fully embracing the open and spontaneous nature of our lives.
We treat our customers, staff, and partners as family. We gain strength and build our reputation based on product and service consistency. We believe artisanal and craft foods are a way to renew and greatly improve our economy, community, and the way we relate to food.
Meet the Founders
Founder / Designer / Business Development
Maxwells business experience launching Home Frite in Brooklyn, NY, and his homestead experience in Vermont brought him to create the Cowgirl Lemonade brand concept with Corina. Though based in New York and Vermont, Maxwell plays a vital role in the direction and inspiration for the companies growth.
Founder / Gen. Manager / Marketing
Corina moved from rural Vermont to Denver in 2014. She brought a piece of Vermont with her, by way of her and Maxwells’ idea to start Cowgirl Lemonade. Corina creates flavors in the test kitchen, coordinates with clients and venues, runs our media and marketing as well as representing us in public. She is our backbone and steadying force.
Manager / Operations / Logistics / Accountant
Shona is at front of our stand every weekend, making relationships with the public and introducing our product. Her direction on-site, as well as her hand guiding the finances, and organization of production keep us afloat and moving confidently.
The addition of Shona Paterson let us focus on business development by covering operational, and administrative duties vital to the day to day success, and solvency of the business.
